Bangladesh on Sunday defeated the hosts West Indies by 19 runs [DLS Method] to win the T20I series 2-1.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. Batting first, they scored 184/5 in 20 overs. Liton Das top scored with 61 runs off just 32 balls. He hit 6 fours and 3 sixes. Carlos Braithwaite and Keemo Paul scalped two wickets each.
The target was revised to 155 runs in 17.1 overs after the rain-affected match. WI could only manage 135/7. Andre Russel scored 47 runs. Mustafizur Rahman picked 3 wickets.
Liton Das was Man of the Match. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan who scored 103 runs and scalped 3 wickets in the 3 T20Is was adjudged Player of the Series.
“This was a tremendous team effort and will give us a lot of confidence moving forward,” said Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan.
“I didn’t think it was our smartest batting effort,” said Carlos Brathwaite, skipper of West Indies.
“Our bowlers pulled it back very well when it looked as if they would have gotten to 220 but we just couldn’t execute with the bat as a team when it mattered,” he added.
