Akila Dananjaya bowled magnificently well as South Africa lost the fifth and final ODI by 178 runs at Colombo on Sunday.

Danajaya picked 6 wickets for just 29 runs in 9 overs as the tourists were bowled out for 121 runs while chasing a target of 300 runs. Lahiru Kumara also picked up 2 wickets. For SA, Skipper, Quinton de Cock was the top scorer with 54 runs.

Earlier, SL won the toss and opted to bat first. Captain, Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten on 97 runs. Niroshan Dickwella contributed 43 runs. Among others, Kusal Mendis (38) and Dhananjaya chipped in as they posted 299/8 in their 50 overs.

Willem Mulder and Andile Phehlukwayo scalped two wickets each.

The next match will be a T20I on August 14.
