Afghanistan crushed host Ireland in 3rd ODI comprehensively by 8 wickets to win series by 2-1.

Visitors Afghan overpowered Host Ireland in the decider of the series. Afghanistan once again trusted their bowling to do the job for them by restricting strong Ireland batting for a Modest total of 124 All-out. Star Leg-spinner Rashid Khan left Ireland, batsman, clueless as he took 3 wickets for just 18 runs in 8 overs. He was well supported by Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib and Aftab Alam who picked 2 wickets each to leave Ireland batting hopeless in the 3rd ODI. Gary Wilson (23) was the highest run scorer for the Ireland side.

Chasing 125 runs target to win the match and the series was always going to be a catwalk for Afghanistan. However, the visitors lost their first wicket quickly as Wicket-keeper Mohammad Shahzad got out for 1 run in the 2nd over. Meanwhile, Afghanistan recovered quickly from the early blow as an opener Ihsanullah Janat and Rahmat Shah (33) added 50 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket. Later Janat completes his half-century and remain unbeaten on (57*) runs along with Hashmatullah Shahidi (34*) to win their side match within 24 overs. Tim Murtagh and Boyd Rankin got the consolation 1 wicket each for Ireland
