Absolute run feast witnessed in Eden Park. Both the teams took full advantage of flat batting track to score heavily. Earlier in the day New Zealand won the toss and opt to bat. Host go a dream start as the duo of Martin Guptill 105 in just 54 and Colin Munro 76 in just 33 balls decimate Australian bowling attack in the shortest side of the ground. However, Visitors did well in last 3 overs to restrict New Zealand below 250 runs. Aussies bowled superbly at death overs as they gave only 19 runs in last three overs. It was the turning point and momentum shifting phase for Australia.
