The controversial word war between Australian vice-captain David Warner and Quinton De Kock increased the tension between both sides.

The conflict Between Australia and South Africa charged up the host to upright their game. Proteas did the same on the first day of the 2nd test. Australia won the toss and elected to bt first. South African bowlers showed their intensity for the ball one. However, Aussies got a good start. But Rabada storms covert their good start into small total in the 1st innings. Australia scored 243 runs in their 1st innings. Rabada took 4 wickets in his 7 deliveries to shift the momentum in South Africa favor.
South Africa lost their 1st wicket in their 1st innings for 39 runs at stumps on day one. Dean Elgar 11 and night watchman Kagiso Rabada 17 were at the crease.
Earlier in the day, South Africa made one change in their playing 11. They include Lungisani Ngidi in place of Morne Morkel. Australia remains unchanged.
