Skipper, Andre Russell produced a fantabulous all round innings as Jamaica Tallawahs won their Caribbean Premier League (CPL) opening match against Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by four wickets at Trinidad on Friday.

Russell started with his hat-trick in the last over to dismiss McCullum, Bravo, and Ramdin. He then went on to score 121 runs off just 49 deliveries when the team was struggling at 41/5 in the 7th overs while Chasing 225 runs.

Note: Russell completed his ton in 40 balls.

In his innings, Russell hit 6 fours and 13 sixes to almost win the match single-handedly for Tallawahs. Kennar Lewis too contributed 51 runs. They won the game by 4 wickets with three balls to spare.

Ali Khan picked three wickets while Fawad Ahmed scalped 2 wickets.

Earlier, Jamaica Tallwahs won the toss and choose to field first. In reply, TKR scored 223/6 in their 20 overs. Colin Munro and Brendon McCullum scored 61 and 56 respectively. Chris Lynn contributed 46 runs.

Jamaica Tallawahs will next play against St Lucia Stars at Jamaica on August 14.
