NZ women today defeated India women in yet another close game held at Hamilton by 2 runs and won the series 3-0.

Whiteferns won the toss and managed a total of 161/7 in their 20 overs. Sophie Devine top scored with 72 runs. Skipper,  Amy Satherthwaite contributed 31 runs.

Deepti Sharma scalped two wickets.

In reply, India managed 159/4. Smriti Mandhana scored 86 runs.

Deepti Sharma and Mithali Raj were unbeaten and 21 and 20 runs respectively but failed to achieve the target with 12 runs needed of the final over from Kasperek.

All-rounder Devine claimed 2 wickets and won Player of the match award. She was also adjudged Player of the series.

India women will next play limited overs series against England women at Mumbai and Guwahati starting February 22.
