The 1st T20 match between New Zealand women and Pakistan women took place at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium. Pakistan Women won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first New Zealand women scored 147 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Opener Sophie Devine scored 41 runs off 29 balls while wicket-keeper Katey Martin scored 46 runs off just 27 deliveries. Sadia Yousuf was among the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as she picked up 3 wickets for just 30 runs in her quota of four overs. Pakistan women needed 148 runs to win. Opener Nahida Khan scored 34 runs before she was run out in the 15th over while skipper Bisma Maroof and Javeria Khan scored in their 20s but could not help Pakistan win the match as they needed 26 runs in the last over. Finally, New Zealand women restricted Pakistan to 132/7 (20). Thamsyn Newton picked 2 wickets for New Zealand.
