The day 4 of the 1st test between India and Sri Lanka ended on a bright note for the home team as India scored 171 for the loss of 1 wickets till stumps. Shikhar Dhawan scored 94 is the lone wicket fall in Their 2nd innings and Kl Rahul was not out for 73 runs look’s to convert it into big hundred he was joined by Pujara who was on 2 runs.
Earlier Sri Lanka scored 294 runs-All out in their 1st Inning with an impressive contribution from middle-order batsman Lahiru Thirimanne (51) and Angelo Mathews(52) and later from tailenders. Especially Rangana Herath (62) runs was the crucial innings for the Sri Lanka points of view as at one stage they are struggling at 201 for 7 wickets and because of his innings Srilanka reached the target of 294 runs and set the lead of 122 runs for India.
While batting in 2nd innings both India openers start their innings with the positive mindset and forced Sri Lankan bowlers to bowl into their strength, More Importantly, the body language of Sri Lanka was down and they didn’t try to pick wickets other than that they try to save runs. Field placement is also questionable during whole 2nd innings of India. It tells the whole storyline that Sri Lanka plays to draw the match instead of winning it and take a 1-0 lead in three-match test series.
