Indian women’s cricket defeated South Africa women’s team in the one-way traffic match. Earlier on the day South Africa won the toss and asked India to bat first. India takes it from both hands as they got a good start once again from their opening pair of Punam Raut 20 and Smriti Mandhana of 56 runs. However, Punam got out after being set. Captain Mithani Raj gave the good contribution of 20 runs in another 50 plus stand. The biggest game setter for India was the partnership of 134 runs between Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur 55. Smriti completes her century in that partnership. Even though Mandhana got out after playing terrific knock. Veda Krishnamurthi came to the crease. She Scored blistering knock of 51 runs in 33 balls which includes 6 fours and one six. The Duo takes the team over the mark of 300 runs without losing the wicket. India post 302 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 50 overs.
South Africa came out to chase the target which looked beyond their reach. Proteas started to lose their wickets at regular intervals. The same story of 1st match repeated for the host. Indian women’s team wrist spinner Poonam Yadav took 4 wickets in the match. Lizelle Lee 73 played the lone battle against Indian bowlers.
South Africa Women bowled out for the modest total of 124 runs in just 30.5overs.
