The 1st match of the series between India and South Africa played at Kingsmead, Durban. Where Proteas captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first. The wicket at Durban seemed to swing allot at evening according to its nature. That’s why Indian captain Virat Kohli also wants’s to bat first. The match starts on a good note for the home side as India’s fast bowlers find not much assistance from the wicket. However, Visitors got an early breakthrough in form of Hashim Amla. Home side recovers themselves from that breakthrough. Faf du Plessis and opener Quinton De Kock added 53 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket.
The new sensation for India in the spin department came into the play. Yuzvendra Chahal provides India 2nd breakthrough of Quinton De Kock. After than Kuldeep Yadav joined his partner to hunt South African Batting. Together they bowled 20 overs and just give 79 runs to pick 5 wickets. Kuldeep picked 3 wickets whereas, Chahal took 2 wickets. India’s captain decided to play both spinners work absolutely fine for his team. Spin twin is the major factor for restricting South Africa at 269 runs. Even though Du Plessis was the lone warrior for his team with his terrific (120) runs in 112 balls. He get’s support from lower order batsman Chris Morris 37 and Andile Phehlukwayo 27. They set the competitive target for visitors of 270 runs.
India began their chase pitch plays better than 1st innings. The ball came nicely to the bat. India’s opener starts well but Rohit Sharma out got cheaply in order to play pull shot. After than Virat Kohli came in the crease he looked jerky during the start of his innings. Shikhar Dhawan was in great tough he is scoring runs more than runner ball. But unfortunately, he got run out due to miscommunication between him and Virat. He was miffed after that run-out. Virat Kohli completed his 33rd test hundred in the passage of game. he scored 112 runs before getting out. MS Dhoni finishes off in his style by hitting four once again for India.
