One of the top cricketers of Indian cricket, Gautam Gambhir bid adieu to cricket in style. The 37-year-old batsman who hails from Delhi scored 112 runs for his side in first innings of a Ranji match ( his last) against Andhra held at Feroz Shah Kotla.
Gambhir played a key role to help India win key trophies in the finals. He played top innings in WT20 final 2007 and 50-over 2011 World Cup.
The left-hand batsman has been in a phenomenal form in the domestic circuit but faced multiple hardships as the selectors didn’t even consider him a farewell match. Moreover, Gambhir was released from Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) squad ahead of the IPL auctions.
The opening batsman has won multiple IPL trophies as Captain and represented India in 242 matches across all formats. He has scored over 10,000 runs in his international career.
In his first-class career, Gambhir has over 15000 runs to his name.
