The CSAT20 Challenge opener started on a roll as Knights won the 1st match of the challenge very comfortably against Worriers by 8 wickets.
The opening match was played at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth where Knights won the toss and opt to bowl and restricted Warriors at the score of 153 runs in their allotted 20 overs, while in the middle overs it was severely dented where Warriors not only lost wickets but also scored runs at less than five an over . It was only Christiaan Jonker’s blazing innings which stood out and helped power Warriors to a respectable score of 153 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.
Shadley Van Schalkwyk was the best bowler on the day with an impressive figure of 3 wickets for just 25 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
In reply Knights lost both their openers at the score of 15 runs captain, Theunis de Bruyn came to the rescue and led from the front with an unbeaten 78 off 48, which came in a king-sized partnership with the in-form David Miller (62 off 47) . The duo combined to add unbeatable 142 runs stand in just 14.3 overs helped Knights sail to a comfortable 8-wicket win over Warriors in the opener.
