England all-rounder Chris Woakes on Sunday achieved the feat of scoring 1000 runs during his 25th Test in the ongoing test series against India.
Woakes who completed his century yesterday, added another 17 runs (137* runs in total) to complete his 1000 runs in the longer format of the game. The all-rounder has 66 wickets to his name in Tests.
His scored his first test century & his 189 runs partnership for the sixth wicket with Jonny Bairstow helped England to be in a commanding position on Day 3. However, Bairstow (93) missed on a century.
The hosts declared at 396/7 in the first innings after gaining a lead of 289 runs in the Lord’s Test.
At Lunch, India were 17/2 on Day 4. The tourists were bowled out for 107 in their first innings.
