The 29th match of Bangladesh Premier League took place between Dhaka Dynamites and Chittagong where Chittagong Vikings won the toss and elected to bat first.While batting first host lost their early wicket. But Vikings’ innings was resurrected by a 107-run partnership between the two half-centurions – Ronchi (59) and Haque (73).Sikandar Raza provided the finishing touches with a brisk 26 not out off 11 balls to post a commanding total of 187 from their allotted overs.
In Reply Dynamites didn’t have an ideal start while chasing the huge target. They lost the wicket of Shahid Afridi in 1st over. However, much like the Viking’s innings. the Dynamites’ chase was put back on track through a century partnership for the second wicket. Lewis and Denly combined for a 118-run stand. Where Evin Lewis 75, Joe Denly 44 scored the crucial runs to take their team close to victory. while Lewis got out by Rayad Emrit and also Denly departed soon after, missing his fifty by six runs and giving Vikings an outside chance of claiming a win.
But all such hopes were dashed by Dynamite’s skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Cameron Delport, who put on an unbroken 67-run partnership for the third wicket to power Dynamites over the line in the penultimate over. As Dhaka Dynamite reached the target in 18.5 overs as they scored 191/3.
