England outclassed Australia in 2nd ODI to take 2-0 lead in the Series
England Batting which struggled in Test now roaring at ODI’s. They changed their game completely in ODI after 2011 world cup. Earlier they used to play old conventional cricket.But now they transferred into modern dominating aggressive cricket.
Australia looked helpless among England batsman. During 1st ODI Australia post the target of over 300 runs. But that was easily chased by the England batsman. The same story goes in the 2nd ODI where again Australi Post a good total of 270. That was again comfortably chased by England with 34 balls still remains to spare.
England as a side looks completely different in white ball cricket under new captain Eoin Morgan. Whereas Australia struggled to play ODI’s in recent time. Recently in the Series against India, they lost the ODI series by 4-1. Not only that they also failed to reach the semifinal of Champions Trophy 2017.
The 2nd ODI played at Gabba, Brisbane. Where Australia won the toss and opt to bat. They got the good start as their opening duo of David Warner 35 and Aaron Finch 106 added 68 runs. But soon after the wicket of David Warner Finch played the role of aggressor. While Captain Steve Smith plays the second fiddle in their small stand of 42 runs.However, England comeback in the match with two quick wickets of Smith 18 and Travis Head 7. Both the wicket was picked by Part-time bowler Joe Root.Finch continues to flourish his run and create another 50plus stand with Mitchell Marsh 36. England bowler came back stronger to dent Australia run flow with the regular strike. They get reduced from 209-3 to 216-6. Australian Wicketkeeper rescued his team with crucial 27 runs to take it to the total of 270 runs with the loss of 9 wickets.
England starts their chase and lost the 1st wicket of Jason Roy in 1st over. even though the duo of Jonny Bairstow 60 and Alex Hales 57 added 117 runs for the 2nd wicket. Which was later well maintained by Joe root 46, Jos Buttler 42 and Chris Woakes 39. They helped their side to chase the target well before 45 over marks. Mitchell Starc picked 4 wickets for Australia.
