For all the beatings that their test team took, they have given it back.Visitors look’s the best side in the limited overs format at the present scenario. Their stats prove all the reality. In the recent times, England has crossed 300 runs mark about 14 times. More than any team in ODI. While Australia has done it off 8 times.
Before the start of the series England, former batsman James Taylor told the media. “Australia is a tough place to be, especially when you are losing. But the fresh faces will provide an added impetus and do the world of good for England”
His statement is certainly right. We look England side a combination of many match winners in one side. The variety of players they have in Limited overs format differentiate their team from other Team.
It all started with the 2015 world cup. Where they humiliated by the group stage exit. After then they have developed the force which knows only one way to play and that is aggressive Cricket altogether.
Even though there is no Ben Stoke in the series. Despite that, they Didn’t allow Host to feel there is something missing in their team. Chris Woakes played the role of all-rounder exceptionally well to hunt Australia with both bat and ball.
The best thing about their Limited Overs side is the intensity remain up and over all the time. Even their wickets fall but they never dropped their Run-Rate. Maintained their strike rate throughout the innings. That is extraordinary stuff from England batsman.
Australia Intensity is dropping with the time in the limited overs format. Their body language says it all in the field. They need to buck up before 2019 world cup to reclaim the trophy. If they continue to perform like that then we certainly see new world champion. England is seriously favorite side to win the title for the first time.
They are the host of the World cup and we all know how dangerous England can be in their own backyard.
Now come back to 3rd match of the series. Which was played at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. Where Australia won the toss and opt to bowl. They tried their fortune this time by resist England from Chasing. From the start of their innings, they played their natural aggressive brand of Cricket. But this time wickets also falls with the run tickle around in the match. As I said earlier they have many match winner. Jos Butter proves his one of those match winner in the team. He patches 50plus partnership with Captain Eoin Morgan (41). Later he built another unbeaten partnership with Chris Woakes (53) who played blistering knock in just 36 balls. In the process of creating the partnership, Jos Buttler completes his (100) in just 83 balls. The duo takes the total of England to 302 runs with the loss of 6 wickets.
Chasing will never be going to easy for Australia considering the quality bowling line-up of England. England bowlers start their proceedings at the prolific note. They removed the dangerous David Warner Cheaply for 8 runs. However, Aaron Finch 62 and Captain Steve Smith(45) tried hard with the lower order contribution of Mitchell Marsh (55) & Marcus Stoinis ( 56). But that didn’t prove to be enough for the host to chase the Target. They Lost the match by 16 runs as many Australian batsmen get starts but no one able to convert it into the big score.
England bowlers kept it tight in the last 10 overs to held Australian batsman to score runs freely.Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid took 2 wickets apiece.
Note – Jos Buttler Adjudged Player of the Match for his match-defining knock.
