The first edition of the much awaited Afghanistan Premier League (APL) kicked off on Friday.

First game of the tournament was played between Paktia Panthers and Kabul Zwanan.

Match info:
Batting first, Panthers scored 218/4 in their 20 overs. Sikander Raza scored 78 runs off 40 balls while Ahmad Shahzad piled up 37 ball 67 runs.

In reply, Laurie Evans scored 79 off 39 balls to take Zwanan to register 3 wickets win in 19.1 overs.

Now, here’s all that you need to know about APL:

23 matches will be played in the two week long tournament.

There are a total of 5 teams playing for the title. They are: Balkh Legends, Kandahar Knights and Nangarhar Leopards apart from the above two.

Rashid Khan- Kabul
Mohd. Shehzad- Panthers
Asghar Afghan- Knights
Mohd. Nabi- Legends

Players from across the world will feature in the tournament.

The final will be played on 21st October (Sunday), 2018.
