England on Saturday beat Srilanka by 31 runs (D/L) in the rain affected match.

Srilanka won the toss and sent England to bat first at Dambulla. Top performance from Joe Root (71) and skipper, Eoin Morgan helped the side post 278/9 in 50 overs.

In reply, Srilanka were 140/5 in 29 overs when rain ended game’s play. Dhananjaya de Silva and Thisara Perera were playing at 36* and 44* respectively.

Chris Woakes scalped three wickets.

Note: England leads the ODI series 1-0.
