The skipper of St. Lucia Stars, Kieron Pollard hit a century on Friday to help his side secure a 38 runs win over Barbados Tridents.

Barbados won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, SLS scored 226/6 in 20 overs. Opener Andre Fletcher scored 80 off 52 balls that included 6 each four(s) and sixes. Skipper, Kieron Pollard too played well to score 104 runs off 54 deliveries with the help of 6 fours and 8 sixes. Raheem Cornwall contributed 30 runs.

Wahab Riaz scalped 3 wickets while Raymon Reifer picked 2 wickets.

In reply, Tridents could only manage 188/6 in their 20 overs and thus fell 38 runs short of the target. Dwayne Smith was the top scorer with 58 runs. Nicholas Pooran (23), Steve Smith (28) and Shai Hope (25*) chipped in but couldn’t get going.

Obed McCoy picked 3 wickets while Qais Ahmed scalped 2 wickets.

Keiron Pollard earned Man of the Match.
