India’s best fast bowler on day one of 1st Test match Mohammad Shami found the rhythm straightaway after being out for few months from cricket due to personal problems and Injury. Shami took 2 crucial wickets on day one at Edgbaston.
Earlier, before the start of the Test series, his inclusion in playing XI was in doubt due his fitness concern, However, he made a fine comeback by picking two crucial wickets of English batting.
Shami Quoted to media after the end of day one “The tour of South Africa was a long time ago and there have been few personal problems. I had to fight a allot but my efforts were that I have to keep doing what I love and cricket is more important to me”
Shami felt satisfied with their bowling performance as a unit. He also gives credit to Ashwin for his brilliant bowling performance and picking 4 wickets on the day 1.
“As a bowling unit and as an individual I am very happy today This is the thing I have worked hard for and we have been able to bring it forward”
