India wicket-keeper Rishbah Pant caught five catches in his debut innings while playing against England on Day 2 of the ongoing test at Trent Bridge.
Pant took the catches of Alaister Cook, Keaton Jennings, Ollie Pope, Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid to achieve the feat as England were bowled out for 161 in their 1st innings.
Pant became only the third player to take five catches in a debut inning apart from Australia’s John Maclean and Brian Taber.
When it comes to catching five wickets on debut Test, he joins the list of Indian wicketkeepers such as Kiran More, Naren Tamhane, and Naman Ojha.
Earlier on Saturday Pant had also become the only 12th player to start his score proceedings with a six in test cricket. However, he managed just 24 runs.
