Dejected Indian opener Murli Vijay name is also added on that list who are not happy with Selectors uncharacteristic rules for the certain set of players. Earlier Karun Nair criticized Indian team management for not talking to him after snubbing him from Test Squad against West Indies. Selectors also didn’t give him the reason for dropping him from the squad. Now Murli Vijay also complains about selectors lack of communication with him.
Vijay said to media “Neither the chief selector nor any other person spoke to me in England after I was dropped from the third Test,”
However, Vijay is struggling with his form in international cricket. He flopped miserably in last two overseas tours in South Africa and England. During 5 overseas matches, he played in 2018 Vijay had not able to make even a half-century and result of that he was dropped from the squad after only two Test matches In England.
Meanwhile, considering the big Australian tour Vijay omission was criticized by many former cricketer and experts as Murli Vijay is one of the most successful batsmen for India in Overseas conditions. Last time when India toured Australia, Vijay scored 482 runs for India. However, Vijay still feels that he will make a comeback in the team for the Australia tour.
“Right now I am looking forward to doing well for Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy. I have been in these situations before and made a comeback. I will be preparing for the Australia series too in my own manner. I know the conditions there well, having scored close to 500 runs during the 2014-15 series. I wish to be ready if the chance comes.”
India’s best overseas opening batsman in the modern era Murli Vijay have a very high probability to make his comeback considering other Indian openers form, especially KL Rahul will be under pressure.
