Former England players and experts have been praising India since their win at Nottingham. England former captain Ray Illingworth name is also added to that list, Where he is also appreciating India’s comeback in the red ball cricket.
India made a comeback in the 5 match Test series in 3rd Test after being tumbled in first two Test matches of the series. However, visitors still trailing in the series by 2-1.
Illingworth said to the media “Birmingham was a great Test match, but in Lord’s, India was at the receiving end of the weather. They were always up against it and it made a difference. In Nottingham, they gave the impression that they are coming back to their true potential. The batsman adjusted well and then, of course, the bowlers did the job. It was a great win for them”
Ray Illingworth also praises India’s current crop of the pace attack and termed it as their best fast bowling attack in the longer format of the game.
He quoted to media ” The pace attack can put a lot of teams under pressure. Add to that fitness and fielding standards, which have gone up so much in the last few years.
