Srilanka won the 3rd ODI by 3 wickets to gain consolation win in the series
India won the series 2-1 in 3 match ODI series.
Indian women’s cricket team won the ODI series against island nation SriLanka despite being on the losing side on the 3rd ODI. SriLanka women’s fought well in the 3rd ODI as they first restrict India at 253 runs in 50 overs and then they batted well to achieve the target with one ball to spare. Mithali Raj scored phenomenal hundred to achieve her highest runs in the ODI cricket. Mithali stroked 125 runs and stitch 102 runs partnership with inform opener Smriti Mandhana (51). However, India’s lower order was not able to cash in on the start as they get short by 20 runs.
Sri Lanka women captain Chamari Athapaththu followed Indian captain Mithali Raj footstep to hit her century. Athapaththu stroked 115 runs to overpowered the knock of Indian captain. Jhulan Goswami & Mansi Joshi took 2 wickets each for India in the match. Sri Lanka batted well in the death overs to help themselves in crossing the line.
India dominated the series as they won first 2 matches quite comfortable and the 3rd match was also very close could be gone in anyone’s favor. Meanwhile, SriLanka played well to won 3rd ODI.
