The last day of the third test and ongoing Test between India and England will resume tomorrow as India just requires one wicket on the final day of gameplay at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

England resumed at 23/0 on Day 4 while chasing a mammoth target of 521 runs set by team India. Ishant Sharma provided the early breakthroughs as the hosts lost four wickets in the first session and were reduced for 62/4 but Jos Buttler made the best of his drop catch by debutant wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant as he went on to score his maiden century (106 runs) in Test cricket.

All-rounder Ben Stokes too contributed 62 and hung in there for a good amount of time as the duo shared a partnership of 169 runs off 344 balls for the fifth wicket.

However, India came back strong in the last session after the Tea break and scalped 5 wickets but Adil Rashid (30* off 55 balls) and James Anderson (8* off 16 deliveries) hung in there to prevent loss for a bit long as England ended 311/9 at Stumps on Day 4.

Jasprit Bumrah took a five-wicket haul.
