Team India player Smriti Mandhana scored 102 runs as Western Storm beat Lancashire Thunder by 7 wickets in Kia Super League at Old Trafford, Manchester on Friday.

Earlier, Western Storm Storm won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, Lancashire Thunder scored 153 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Amy Satterthwaite scored an unbeaten 85 runs off 57 deliveries.

Anya Shrubsole scalped 2 wickets while Freya Davies and Naomi Dattani shared one wicket each.

In reply, Western Storm who received early blows was powered by the Indian counterpart Smriti Mandhana. The 22-year-old hit 12 fours and 4 sixes in her innings of 102 runs to help her side to chase down the target in 18.2 overs.

Note: Mandhana is the top scorer of the ongoing tournament with 282 runs in 5 matches at an average of 94.

Kate Cross, Emma Lamb, and Amy Satterthwaite scalped one wicket each.
