Team India’s opening batting stalwarts performed their best in the recent Asia Cup and as a result both Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma rise in the latest ICC ODI rankings.
Dhawan who scored 342 runs in 5 innings at an average of 68.4 reached to top 5 spots, a rise in 4 places while the stand-in skipper of Asia Cup and winning captain, Rohit Sharma scored 317 runs in an equal number of innings at a heavy average of 105.67 and gained two spots and currently finds himself at No.2 (842 points).
India’s all-time skipper Virat Kohli who was rested is placed at the No.1 spot with 884 points.
Among bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is placed on top of the ICC bowlers rankings with 797 points. India’s china-man bowler Kuldeep Yadav joins him at No.3 in the top 5 list.
Note: Afghan skipper Rashid Khan is placed at No.2 in bowlers rankings with 788 points.
