Team India Women’s T20I skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur hit a winning six off the second last ball in her debut match of the Women’s Super League to help Lancashire Thunder defeat Surrey Stars by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Surrey scored 148 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs at Kennington Oval, London. Natalie Sciver scored an unbeaten 95 runs with the help of 9 fours and two sixes.
Enna Lamb picked 3 wickets while Kate Cross and Alex Hartley shared one wicket each.
In reply, Nicole Bolton scored 87 runs off just 61 balls to set the stage for Kaur to finish the game. Lancashire had to score 11 runs off the last over.
Kaur who scored 34 runs off just 21 balls hit the winning six to seal the first successful chase of this year’s edition of the Women’s Super League.

Natalie Sciver scalped 2 wickets while Niekerk and Brown shared 1 wicket each.

Smriti Mandhana continues to shine
Among other Team India players, Smriti Mandhana continued to shine in the Women’s Super League. She scored an unbeaten 43 runs off 27 balls to guide her team Western Storm to a nine-wicket win against Southern Wipers on Tuesday. Her scores are 48, 37, 52* and 43.
The 22-year-old has scored 180 runs in 4 innings to be at the top scorer in the league so far. Heather Knight is placed second with 121 runs.
