Team India won the 14th edition of Asia Cup that was held in September this year. Six teams participated in the two week long tournament. The final was played bewtween India and Bangladesh. Here are some top batting performances of the tournament:
Musfiqur Rahim 144 & 99
Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman Musfiqur Rahim produced his ODI best in the tournament opener scoring 144 off just 150 balls and helped his side register win against SL despite top performance from pacer Lasith Malinga. Later, he scored 99 runs off 116 deliveries in the semi-finals clash against Pakistan which his team won the game by 37 runs.
Rahmat Shah 72 runs against Sri Lanka
Afghanistan’s Rahmat Shah scored 72 runs which was important at that stage of the game as his side posted 249 on their board. Later, bowlers did well to win the game by 91 runs.
Shikhar Dhawan’s 127 and 114
India’s opener Shikhar Dhawan came back to form after his poor run in the test series in England in style. He scored 127 runs off 120 balls against Hong Kong in India’s first game of the tournament. India won the close game by 29 runs. He also scored another century against Pakistan scoring 114 off just 100 balls that India won by 9 wickets.
Hashmatullah Shahidi scored an unbeaten 97 runs against Pakistaj to help his top post a 250+ total. Unfortunately, they lost the nail biter by 3 wickets in the final over.
Rohit Sharma 83* and 111*
Team India’s appointed captain finished two games for his side. He scored an ubeaten 83 runs off 104 balls against Bangladesh and 111 off 119 against Pakistan.
Ahmed Shahzad 124 runs
Afghanistan opener Ahmad Shahzad scored his 1st ton against a top team. He scored 124 off just 116 balls that helped his team enough runs to tie the game against team India.
