Melbourne Renegades on Sunday won their first BBL title in the eighth of the league.

They defeated Melbourne Stars in the final derby.

Stars had won the toss and restricted Renegades to 145/5.

Tom Cooper scored ubeaten 43 maximum runs alongside Dan Chrustian 38*.

Travis Bird and Adam Zampa picked two wickets each.

In reply, Stars were 93/1 in 13 overs but a top spell from trio- Christian, Boyce and Tremain (two scalps each) left them high and dry at 132/7.

D’Arcy short named Player of the tournament.

Renegades were led by Aussie limited overs skipper Aaron Finch.
