Madurai Panthers defeated Dindigul Dragons by 7 wickets to clinch their maiden Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) title at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.
Madurai Panthers won the toss and chose to bowl first. Dindigul Dragons had a poor start as they lost first five wickets for just 21 runs.
Skipper, N Jagadesan top scored with 51 runs and some lower middle order players guided the team to a total of 117 in 19.5 overs.
Abhishek Tanwar scalped 4 wickets while Lokesh Raj and Varun Chakravathi picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, despite losing 3 wickets for just 2 runs, Madurai Panthers won the match by 7 wickets. Arun Karthik scored 50-ball 75 runs that included 4 each four and sixes. Shijit Chandran contributed 38 runs.
M Silambarasan scalped all the three wickets.
