Liton Das inspiring century gone in vain as Bangladesh lost in the final of Asia cup 2018.
The team in blue won the final match in the last ball of the 50th over to complete their 7th title in Asia cup.
Defending champion India defended their Asia cup title successfully against the fire up Bangladesh. The match was certainly a roller coaster ride for both teams. Bangladesh made a terrific start with the bat after being asked to bat first from India. The shaggy opening pair of Bangladesh throughout the tournament step up in the most important grand final of Asia cup 2018. Credit also goes to Bangladeshi captain Mortaza for his smart captaincy by promoting off-spin All-rounder Mehidy Hasan to open the innings. The duo opener Liton Das and Hasan combined to built 120 runs opening partnership for Bangladesh. Liton played the prominent role in that partnership. However, Hasan got out for 32 runs after the grandstand. Eventually, Bangladesh lost path completely as they gift India wickets in a bunch and then the brilliant fielding efforts from Indian fielders pack them back in the innings. Meanwhile, Das continues to score runs at the brisk rate and completed his maiden hundred and got out for 121 runs. Bangla tigers only managed to post 222 runs on the board.
Golden arm of India Kedar Jadhav once again proved his efficiency with the ball as he provides India major breakthrough in the important juncture of the match. Jadhav took 2 wickets by giving just 41 runs in his 9 overs. In his two wickets, Musthafiquer Rahim was the most important wicket for India.
The target looked very easy for Inform India batsman. But Bangladesh came hard in their bowling. They put pressure on India by picking 2 crucial wickets of Dhawan and Rayudu within 10 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma tried to stitch a partnership with Dinesh Karthik but eventually when both batsmen looked set to take India home. Rohit got out on the run of play while playing his trademark pull shot against Rubel Hussain. While Dhoni and Karthik combined and established half-century stand. But then the twist came when India lost the wickets of Dinesh Karthik for 37 and then within few overs Dhoni too got out for 36 runs. It creates a lot of pressure on India. But defending champions hold their nerves as their lower order contribute and carried India to their 7th Asia cup title.
