Team India won the Asia Cup for the 7th time played in UAE last week. They defeated Bangladesh in the final to clinch the trophy. Apart from these teams, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Hong Kong, and Afghanistan had also participated in the two-week long tournament.

Hong Kong openers Anshuman Rath (73) and Nizakat Khan (95) produced their brilliant performance as they shared 174 runs partnership for the opening wicket while chasing a target of 286 runs. However, team India managed to pull back things around and restricted them to 259/8.
Rashid Khan and Gulbuddin Naib batting against Bangladesh
When Afghanistan was cruising at 160-7 in their 41st over, Rashid Khan (57*) and Gulbuddin Naib (42*) and put 255/7 on their board without getting bowled. Later, they won the match by a massive margin of 136 runs.
Shoaib Malik’s experience against Afghanistan
In a tight match against Afghanistan, Shoaib Malik (51) held his nerves until the last over to prevent a shock exit in the Asia Cup as Pakistan chased down the 250+ target with 3 wickets in hand.
Bangladesh opening partnership in the Final vs India
Bangladesh sends lower-order batsman Mehdi Hasan to do the job of opening batting alongside Liton Das in absence of Tamim Iqbal and to everyone’s surprise, they set 120 runs for the first wicket. Earlier they averaged 16 runs for the opening partnership in the tournament. However, after the first wicket fell, Bangladesh middle order batting collapsed and they got bowled out for just 222 in 48.3 overs. Liton Das top scored with 121 runs.
